Kumara Cheese Straws

Serves 10
Ingredients:

1 Cup Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp Butter
1 Pinch Salt
1/2 cup cooked kumara (wizzed in food processor or mashed)
1 Tbsp Butter
1/2 Cup grated cheese

Filling:
1/2 Cup Grated Tasty Cheese
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Method:

Cut first quantity of butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Add grated cheese and second quantity of butter to Kumara and process or mash together well. Add kumara to dry ingredients and mix together to form a smooth pastry. Roll out pastry 3mm thick.

Combine cheese's and sprinkle over half of the pastry. Fold uncovered pastry - half over cheese mixture, then roll together firmly using a rolling pin.

Cut into strips 1 cm wide then join the edges together to form a cylinder shape. Place on a well greased baking tray and bake for 10 min or until puffed and golden.
